Brooks Wine was founded in 1998 by Jimi Brooks, whose years working in Europe inspired a particularly Oregon approach to Riesling and Pinot Noir - high acid, food friendly wines grown and made with minimal intervention. When Jimi died unexpectedly just before the 2004 harvest, his eight year old son Pascal inherited the winery, while an admirable group of Oregon winemakers came together to complete the vintage. Jimi’s sister, Janie Brooks Heuck, stepped away from a career in healthcare to lead the winery, ultimately transforming Brooks into one of the Willamette Valley’s most lauded independent estates.
