Matt and I worked together years ago for Augustan wines, and we had the ultimate pleasure of selling the wines of Lail, some of the most classic yet exciting wines in all of Napa Valley. Their Georgia Sauvignon Blanc is one of the greatest examples of the grape I have ever tasted.

Lail Vineyards traces its roots to the very beginning of Napa Valley's wine history. Founder Robin Daniel Lail is the fourth-generation descendant of Captain Gustav Niebaum, who established the legendary Inglenook estate in 1879, and the daughter of John Daniel Jr., the visionary responsible for many of Inglenook's most celebrated Cabernet Sauvignons. After helping launch iconic Napa projects such as Dominus and Merryvale, Robin and her daughters founded Lail Vineyards in 1995 to carry their family's winemaking legacy into a new generation.

Today, Lail sure is well known as one of Napa Valley's most formidable small producers, crafting limited-production Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc from many of the valley's finest vineyard sites. Working alongside renowned winemakers Philippe Melka and Maayan Koschitzky, the winery combines a deep respect for Napa's history with meticulous vineyard selection and uncompromising attention to detail.
