Salvatore Agusta is from Palermo, Sicily. He graduated with a degree in law from the Università degli Studi di Palermo. Over the course of his career, he has worked across every part of the wine industry (production in Sicily, retail sales, and distribution) developing a complete understanding of the journey from vineyard to glass.
Salvatore is the Italian Portfolio Manager at T. Edwards Wines, a role he has held for three years, where he champions independent producers and regional Italian heritage. He holds his WSET D2 certification and multiple Italian wine certifications.
A food and wine historian at heart, Salvatore co-founded Palermo Street Food to celebrate and preserve Sicilian culinary traditions. He is also a wine writer, contributing regularly to Intravino. Based in New York City (with frequent time spent back in Palermo) Salvatore brings together knowledge, culture, and deep passion for the wines of Italy.
An attorney specializing in international law, Salvatore Agusta has cultivated a parallel passion for Italian wine, transforming it into a profession of excellence. His journey began in Sicily, at the helm of a winery in the Monreale area, and was solidified in New York, where for the past decade he has held prominent roles within the local viticultural landscape. His extensive experience has led him to his current position as Italian Portfolio Manager for T. Edward, where he curates the entirety of their Italian wine selection.
